How long can I stay in the UK on a Standard Visitor Visa?

What can I do while I’m in the UK while on a standard visitor visa?
The rules state that you can take part in a business related activity that is mentioned in their visitor rules, you can also study for up to 30 days as long as it is not the main reason for your visit. You can also take part in educational exchange program if you’re under 18 years of age and you can use it to convert your civil partnership into a marriage.
What can’t I do on a standard visitor visa?
There are things that you will not be able to do while you’re on a standard visitor visa, the main reason being is that it is not your intention to stay in the country, only visit. With that in mind, you will not be able to do any paid or unpaid work, you will not be able to live in the UK by using the visa. You will not be able to access public funds such as welfare benefits and you will not be able to marry or register a civil partnership.
How do I apply for a standard visitor visa?
The application is made online and you will find out in due course whether you have been accepted and the Home Office will keep in touch with you to let you know the progress of your application.
